About RoofCost
RoofCost exists because roof pricing is opaque in both directions. Homeowners get quotes from $9,000 to $22,000 for the same roof with no way to tell which one is fair. Roofers pay marketplaces $50–$120 or more for leads that are simultaneously sold to several competitors. A transparent, public cost model helps both sides meet in the middle.
We show our work. Most cost calculators hand you a single number. RoofCost breaks every estimate into materials, labor, tear-off and disposal, underlayment and accessories, and permits — each priced from typical US ranges and adjusted for pitch, layers and regional labor costs. When a roofer’s quote differs from our range, you can usually see exactly which line explains the difference.
Private by design. The calculators run entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, and nothing you type — not your roof size, not your material choice — is sent to a server. The site is static files and arithmetic.
For roofers. The same calculator is becoming a tool roofing companies can embed on their own websites, so homeowners run estimates with the roofer’s brand on them and the quote requests go to that roofer alone. See RoofCost for Roofers and pricing.
What RoofCost is not. We are not a contractor, a marketplace or a lead broker for third parties, and our numbers are planning estimates — not quotes, not bids and not a substitute for a roofer inspecting your actual roof.
